xbadboyjoe,
what kind of bag did you get from Chaperral? I'm thinking of getting the Wolfman Summit saddlebags, but am open to others--
thanks,

My 4 gallon IMS tank will get me about 150 miles + reserve
But that was mostly canyon roads with 50 mile ride on Shortcut-Rincon. Don't know what kind of miliage i'd get on mostly dirt . . .

the 9th-11th of November would be best for me; it's a 3 day weekend! A federal holiday for some. But any weekend that's not too cold or wet is OK by me . . .

Thanks Calvin! The route sounds great; hope that the sandy sections aren't too long . . .

Hi Calvin, thanks for posting that map! Your plan sounds good, but how much of those 100+ miles/day going to be rough/technical? BTW, it's starting to get cold at night. I went up the fireroad to Mt Pacifico for majestic sunset yesterday, and the wintry winds were a reminder that winter's around the...

Eric,
There's a shell station at the bottom of the Angeles Crest Hwy, which is about 20 miles from the trail entrance. On the Azusa side, it looks about 10 to 15 miles . . .

Rincon is a great trail, and even when i had gotten the permit, i didn't bother to unlock the gate, since you can get by. I heard it's not often patrolled, but don't know 'bout that. Didn't see a soul on the trail the time that i went. Not too far up the Angeles Highway is Newcomb's Ranch -- an exce...

Santa Clara Divide Road

Mike, sorry you can't make it. In that case, i'm going to ride the Santa Clara Divide Rd, which is east of Santa Clarita. On the south side of Little Tujunga Rd, there's a 3 mile fireroad that goes up to a hang-glider launch pad, and it's fun to watch them take off. On the north side of Little Tujun...

Sunday July 1st

OK, but i have to say that i enjoy the quicker pace (and the resulting breeze) as well as slide-outs on the fire roads more than riding on single track. Since we'd be meeting in Casaic, would you like to do a loop ride up Lake Hughes road and then dirt roads over to Bouquet Cyn and Rower Flats? My c...

Moto & Hike

Does anyone like to stretch the ol' legs and get some hiking in while dualsporting in the mountains? I'm thinking of something like 1-2 miles in a mostly shaded area. Of course this would mean riding in hiking boots-- unless there were someplace to stash the MX boots and change into some lightweight...
