Hey Guys,

I am back in Germany and made it home safely.
Sorry, that I didn't wrote earlier, but had no internet the last week.

Thank you so much for that wonderful sunday.
It was very special for me to meet you all. :) :) :)
I hope, I will have the chance to return that favour some day.

@Mark: Thank you for posting the pics. I will upload my pics from that sunday and also the pics from last week and let you know.

I made it to Husky Memorial and to the Burro Schmidt tunnel.

On the way to the tunnel, I took one trail to the left and ended up at the wash cabin. Do you guys know that?
I can upload the gps data, if you like and want to go there.

It was a hard trail to the tunnel from that point.
One downhill trail was very exciting for me....... 200 yards steep down, single trail...
It needed nearly an hour to get down that trail and I was complete wet.....but still in one piece...
For me, one of the scariest things I've ever done.
But I had your "trail riding school" before and made it!
Bill would be proud of me.....

And to see the Husky Memorial was very special too.
I was there complete alone. Only the wind and me and the flag waving.
Some trails were closed, but there are enough trails to the memorial and each of them is an experience.
Great views in and over the desert.

I saw everything I wanted to see..... a scorpio, two tarantulas, a snake and a roadrunner at Hungry Valley. :D

What can I say? It was fantastic.

I let you know, when I uploaded the pics.
Btw: The last thing I did on friday in Lancaster, was getting a tattoo.
So now, I have my "So Cal" tattoo.

Have fun.

Greetings,

Elmar :ride:

Hello Elmar: I didnt get to ride with you guys but wish I could have made it. I have ridden with your group many times (good guys). I think that snake is a Gopher Snake. Sometimes they will act like a rattlesnake to ward off predators, the desert showed you some cool critters except a rattlesnake. Looks like you had a great time and amazes me how you found all those places like Husky monument, Burro Schmidt and Randsburg without a GPS and other riders. Very cool. All the best.

Hi Victor,

thx for the info about the snake. I looked at wikipedia and found it. :D

As for the GPS, I have one and used it. That's why I have now the gps data of the wash cabin, which I found accidently.
I prepared the gps device with maps and all the spots, like Husky Memorial and Randsburg and the tunnel, here in germany before vacation started.
But you're right, I was alone there and that was kind of adventure.
Maybe someone had found me some days later, if something happened out there.....

Have fun.
Greetings,
