LA County OHV Dialogue - Final Public Meeting

Postby Wing_pilot » Fri Oct 23, 2009 12:28 pm

Hello all,
Here's a notice to those who may be interested.

The LA County OHV Dialogue is holding the second series of meetings (public workshops) to get input from the general public regarding the creation of planning guidelines for the development/improvement/management of OHV riding areas within LA County. The last, and probably final public meeting in the entire process is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th at 7 pm. It will be held at Jackie Robinson County Park which is located at 8773 E Avenue R, Littlerock, CA 93543. For more details on the meeting, go to http://www.lacounty-ohv.org . There is plenty of info on the various pages of the web site, including summaries of the advisory committee meetings and the first series of public workshops, as well as the current draft planning guidelines. However, to save time I suggest viewing the following two documents:

For a PDF copy of the three-page brochure describing the second series of public workshops (fact sheet #2) go to:
http://www.lacounty-ohv.org/site/defaul ... ocId=31303

The current draft planning guidelines summarizes everything up to the present. It is the basis of what will become the official guidelines for the development/improvement/management of OHV riding areas within LA County. This is what will be discussed at the meeting on Wednesday. In addition to the current draft planning guidelines, this 85-page document also appends copies of several previous OHV Dialogue documents (including the issues discussed in the first series of public workshops). So don't go by the table of contents listed at the beginning. You must scroll through this document to see what it actually contains. For a PDF copy of it go to:
http://www.lacounty-ohv.org/site/defaul ... ocId=31302

Having attended the largest meeting in the first series of public workshops held this past February, I can say that there are several competing stakeholder groups involved in the process. I know its short notice, and a long way to drive for many of us. But this is possibly your last good opportunity in the foreseeable future to have your voice heard and affect the future of our riding areas within LA County.

Anyone interested in attending?
