Re: Hello from Germany
Hi Aaron,
thank you for the infos.
It would be great to meet more people.
At the moment, it is only the date fixed: Sunday, the 10th of Nov.
No time or place.
Should we start with a breakfast in Santa Clarita or Castaic?
Let me know.
Wishing you all a nice rest of the weekend,
Elmar

Re: Hello from Germany
Ok, now it is my last week here in Germany before vacation.
Flight is on friday this week.
I will buy a cellphone over there. One of these cheap prepaid from Walmart or so...
I will post the number here and we can schedule time for breakfast and the tour on sunday, the 10th Nov.
Wish you all a nice time.
Greetings,
Elmar

Re: Hello from Germany
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I saw your post about the ride on 11/10/13 and would like to join you. I live in the Castaic area and ride a newly acquired XR650R.
Re: Hello from Germany
Hi guys,
first week + a few days of vacation is over and as written before, here is the number of the cell I brought:
661 478 4298
So for the ride on the 10th, next sunday, give me a call, where we start and which time.
I pick up the WR250F on the 8th this week and will start at Hungry Valley to get familiar with the bike.....
I hope to see you soon guys.

Re: Hello from Germany
Hi Elmar- what route are you planning on taking from Hungry Valley to Castaic? I hope you weren't planning to take the Old Ridge Route, it's been closed for quite some time now.
Re: Hello from Germany
Hi Aaron,
no, I don't plan from Hungry Valley to Castaic.
I will stay at the Hungry Valley SVRA on friday and maybe saturday too.
We have a pick-up truck and bike is non plated.
Thank you for the info.

Re: Hello from Germany
Oh crap I assumed all along that you bike was plated! Sorry! That seriously curtails our riding options.
No Rock Inn for lunch. No legal connections from Castaic to Palmdale, or anywhere for that matter.
Most of the Angeles Nat Forest fire roads in he area are temporarily closed due to the Powerhouse fire.
The closest riding is in Hungry Valley itself, and Rowher Flats/Drinkwater flats. For both of those you will need full knobbies or you'll be hating life.
The Mojave desert (Cal City) is an option, but I don't know my way around there, and it's quite a haul from Castaic. It would be lots of fun, though.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

Re: Hello from Germany
I guess, Rowher Flats is a good option.
We can meet there at 10.00 am on sunday. Would that be ok?
On our car tours, we passed it and it looks good.
The WR250F should have knobby tires.
I had several emails and phone calls with eaglerider to make sure it has.
I will see that on friday, when I pick up the bike.
......and it will be my first time to load a bike on a pick-up truck.
I should take a video of that.
Let me know, if Rowher Flats is ok for you guys.

Re: Hello from Germany
I will probably be able to make it....in Hawaii now, will be back on Fri night. have a new radiator waiting for me to install on Sat. IF all goes well , should be ready for Sunday.
Is "Staging area 1" the area right off Sierra Highway?
