DS rides around Agua Dulce

Postby v908 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 7:21 am

I recently moved from Valencia to Agua Dulce and have more time (and opportunity) to dual sport now. With all the fire roads and trails around here I'd love to explore, it would be great to have a buddy along -- if nothing else, for safety purposes. I have every other Friday off from work and can ride occassional Saturdays as well. If you're interested, I'd love to hear from you...

I'm game. May even be able to squeeze in a ride on the 13th (depends on how much the honey-do's build up by then). Feel free to e-mail me (v908 at yahoo.com) and we'll see whether we can work something out. Are you game for heading up here?

Not a prob...guess I should update my profile cuz I'm on San Francisquito in Santa Clarita now. You're practically across the street from Rowher... Ever ride there?

V909 and anyone else...

Going to putt out to Gorman Fri morning. I want to try-out the MX track. I'm thinking of doing the So-Cal AMA MX Series race on the 22nd. Senior 40+ Race. I've only ridden fire-roads/desert/Cal-City stuff...So I could use a few pointers on "track' racing... If hate it, I'll just putt around the park til I need gas... I'll be at Mikes Diner @ 8am eating B-Fast. Hopefully it'll be cool-n-cloudy like today !

@stazi64: If you're not big on track racing, you might want to look into the District 37 GP races. While each lap includes a trip through the local MX track (varies from location to location), the bulk of each lap heads out into natural terrain courses (typically more fire road and desert type stuff) where you don't have to sweat large jumps and stuff. If groomed, the Gorman track can be fun, just watch out for the faster riders passing you...

RE: V909...

What makes you think faster riders will be passing me...? lol That's why I'm going early and on a work day, hopefully there won't be too many guys out to see me making a fool of myself... I'd say at any rate, either due to fitness or boredom...I'm only good for 10-15 laps...so I'll probably end up on the trails til the heat/humidity sends me running for AC.

Have a good weekend...!
