Gorman ride to Lockwood Valley

Postby jonnyNITRO » Tue May 31, 2011 1:11 pm

Had a great ride with some old friends (Fubar & Falcon) and a new one Hugh up to Gorman trails to Lockwood Valley, eat lunch at the Pizza place and run back. All in all the ride was about 8 hours and I shot about 2 hours (7.56GBs) of video.
I'll post some vids here and you can see how steep some of those trails are (GoldHill, Tejon) even though it doesn't appear as steep in the video as it does when you are actually riding on it.

Had a blast ! :ride:
Looking forward to Miller Jeep Trail next time. :ride:

First part GoldHill is one of the tricky spots because of the ledges that you need to ride along.

and the second part of Gold Hill...

(I'll post more soon. Large files and it takes a while to process the data.)

Gotta love those Hero cameras, just like being there (almost) :) Also have to give kudos to the FS for keeping those trails so nicely groomed, considering how many riders use them, they really do a good job on them. Glad to see our funds being put to good use. Yeah those side hills are not a place to wander off on. One little oops & the fun is all over for awhile. Looks like a fun ride. Thanks for the cool vids & sharing.

Here's part 1 of Long Dave trail.
Fubar finds the first tree down that day. Actually he found most of them since he was out front and on the gas. I had to hold off after a huge rock flew past me coming off his rear tire. Dust was bad too. Needed just a little squirt of rain to kill the dust, but still had fun. I did run up front a few times and it was nice not to eat any dust.
